'If our family business goes under, we all sink with it.'

I think that money is always a source of stress in any business, and especially if you have a family business like I do; we’re all sitting in the same boat. In the beginning of our business, there just wasn’t any money, and we were all acting like everything was okay, but it was extremely stressful. For most people who have a business, if it goes under, they can go home, or to their parents, or move or something. Our business is in another country—it just has to go well. My parents obviously want it to go well, but my mother really didn’t want me getting involved in it because she thought that if it goes under, then everyone would be pulled under with it. But I thought that with the experience we wold have from it, me and my brother could easily find jobs elsewhere. However, in the beginning, I said to myself: “I don’t have the experience, I don’t have the money, and I can’t fall back on my parents because they’re also involved.”
